Forever Young® BBL

Forever Young BBL Logo

Skin damage caused by sun exposure and other environmental factors often results in discoloration, rough texture, and wrinkles. Our Eugene, OR, medical spa uses the versatile Forever Young BBL (BroadBand Light) technology to address various skin conditions, including vascular lesions, age spots, and uneven skin tone.

We also use the Reveal® Imager 3D skin analysis system to enhance and customize your BBL treatment. The Reveal Imager scan uses advanced photographic technology to reveal complexion issues, such as sun damage, hyperpigmentation, and spider veins.

What Is Forever Young BBL?

Sometimes called a photofacial, the Forever Young BBL is an advanced form of intense pulsed light (IPL) technology. It uses broad-spectrum light energy, rather than laser wavelengths, to penetrate the skin’s surface and heat deeper layers. Faster, more powerful, and gentler than traditional IPL treatments, the broadband light procedure breaks down discoloration and stimulates the body’s natural skin repair process. That healing process involves the production of new collagen, an essential building block for smoother, more youthful-looking skin.

Who Is a Good Candidate for Broadband Light Treatments?

Just about anyone with concerns about the complexion of their skin can benefit from Forever Young BBL treatments. Because the BBL platform uses multiple light wavelengths, it’s exceptionally versatile and can address several skin conditions in a single procedure. Some of the most common concerns our patients have include:

  • Freckles, age spots, and other pigmented lesions
  • Small blood vessels
  • Cherry angiomas
  • Acne
  • Uneven skin tone

One of our talented medical spa practitioners customizes the treatment after a consultation that includes a thorough skin exam and analysis using the Reveal Imager. Board-certified nurse practitioner Hillary Jewell supervises our medical spa.

What Happens During a BBL Treatment?

Before the treatment begins, we provide safety glasses to protect your eyes. Depending on the specific treatment area, you may want to have a topical anesthetic applied to minimize discomfort. You’ll experience a rapid, warm sensation during the treatment as the skin absorbs the broadband light energy. The treatment time depends on the size of the targeted area, with the most extended treatments typically lasting about 30 minutes.

What Is Recovery Like After a BBL Treatment?

The Forever Young BBL procedure is a no-downtime treatment, meaning you can resume your normal activities after leaving our practice. You may see some redness immediately after the treatment, typically lasting a few hours. You should avoid direct sun exposure and apply broad-spectrum sunscreen.

Your results emerge gradually, and the time depends on the condition treated. Periodic treatment sessions can maintain the results.

Combining Forever Young BBL With Other Treatments

Your med spa practitioner may recommend combining the BBL treatment with a laser treatment, such as the HALO® hybrid fractional laser for skin resurfacing , or another BBL treatment, such as laser hair removal with BBL HERO™. If you notice loose skin along the jawline or neck, you can also combine BBL with Ultherapy®.

If you want to clear up blemishes, eliminate pigmentation or lesions, treat acne, or improve skin texture, a Forever Young BBL treatment can help. We see patients from Salem, Corvallis, and Florence at our Eugene, Oregon, practice.
