On May 17, 2015, Mark Jewell, M.D. became the fifth individual in the nearly 50 year history of ASAPS to be given the Leadership Award during the annual business meeting of the Society. This award represents the highest level of achievement by a member in the area of leadership. It is presented to an ASAPS member who shows exemplary leadership, service, creativity, and dedication to the sub-specialty of aesthetic plastic surgery, advancing the organization in the pursuit of its stated mission. The award is presented at the discretion of the Board of Directors to recognize a superior contribution to the Society and its members. The award is a small, covered Tiffany box.
Dr. Jewell is a former President of ASAPS and has functioned in many leadership roles within the Society.
