Ulthera, “Facial Rejuvenation for Busy People”

ult_logo_gold_tagDr. Mark Jewell offers skin tightening treatments with the Ulthera device for patients. This is a non-surgical office treatment designed to tighten tissues in the forehead, brow, cheeks and neck. It uses high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) to precisely tighten the skin and deeper layers. Dr. Jewell has devoted much of his career to surgical ultrasound and HIFU-producing devices. The Ulthera device is the newest in his arsenal of non-surgical treatments for the face and body.

What’s intriguing about Ulthera, according to Dr. Jewell is that it produces tightening of tissues without surgery, injections, or laser/radiofrequency device. This is accomplished by precisely heating tissue layers with micro bursts of HIFU, which produce heating and shrinkage of collagen. There is no downtime to the procedure.

Patients afterwards may resume normal activities; Results take about a month to appear and are maximized at 6 months after treatment. Ultherapy can be repeated for “maintenance” purposes as needed.

Dr. Jewell believes that the best candidates for Ultherapy are individuals with mild to moderate skin laxness in the forehead, brow, cheeks or neck who are looking for improvement in these areas, but do not want a surgical procedure such as a facelift. Surgical types of facial rejuvenation typically offer the most dramatic results, but require recovery time. This approach for some patients does not fit into their busy lives, hence the suitability of Ultherapy. Ultherapy is just part of the comprehensive portfolio of facial rejuvenation that is available with Dr. Mark Jewell and the Jewell District Medical Spa.
