Facial Rejuvenation

About Facial Rejuvenation
Each patient is unique with their individual needs and desires for facial rejuvenation through surgical procedures such as facelift (Rhytidectomy), neck lift, eyelid surgery (Blepharoplasty), and brow lift. Reshaping the nose (Rhinoplasty) and ears (Otoplasty) are also facial procedures that Dr. Jewell performs to define balance and harmony among an individual’s facial features.
Dr. Jewell has extensive experience in all forms of facial rejuvenation surgery. He teaches the latest advances in facial rejuvenation techniques, such as the MACS facelift (minimal access cranial suspension) and the use of Vaser® to reduce fullness in the chin and neck region, to plastic surgeons around the world. No face has perfect harmony or symmetry, but certain features like the nose and ears tend to be more evident. The nose, which is the most central and prominent feature of the face, should be in balance so it blends better with the face and creates a more harmonious look.
Facial Rejuvenation
Facelift or Rhytidectomy
Facelift surgery was performed originally for many years with the goal of reversing the signs of aging by tightening loose skin. Gone are the expressionless, wind-tunnel looks of the past. Modern techniques allow a natural and long lasting result after facial rejuvenation because the current approach to facial rejuvenation involves repositioning of facial structures that have sagged downward, elevation of the jowls to improve the jaw line Read More
Eye Lid Surgery or Blepharoplasty
The eyes are often first to show the signs of aging. Surgically creating youthful eyelids is termed a Blepharoplasty. Although eyelid surgery targets a rather small area of the face, it can have dramatic impact on facial appearance. As we age, eyelid skin looses its elasticity, resulting in excess drooping skin and the actual eyelid may descend and rest on the lashes. There are many factors that contribute to the aged appearance of the eyes such as squinting, sun damage, smoking Read More
Nose Surgery or Rhinoplasty
Even a small surgical adjustment made to your nose can result in a big improvement in overall facial harmony. Nose surgery or Rhinoplasty involves more than merely making noses smaller. As your most prominent facial feature, a nose that is out of proportion or unbalanced with other features can negatively impact your self-image. Your nose needs to look natural and compliment other facial features; it is a balancing of size, width and angles Read More
Ear Surgery or Otoplasty
An otoplasty offers patients with prominent ears the ability to reshape and reposition this important facial feature. While this procedure can be performed on children and teens, Dr. Jewell recommends that patients seeking correction of prominent ears consider waiting until the age of ten to ensure that ears have fully developed. Adults also find great value in the otoplasty, as many have delayed having this procedure. The otoplasty involves surgical incisions Read More
Brow Lift Surgery
Brow lift surgery offers patients the ability to reshape the drooping found on the outside region of the eyebrow and to slightly elevate the inner eyebrow portion. While many patients are satisfied with the use of neurotoxins such as Botox® and Dysport® to control wrinkles and frowning of the inner brow others seek a brow lift surgery to elevate the outside brow region. When the eyes are droopy and eyebrows are lower than the orbital rim a blepharoplasty alone Read More
Tissue Fillers and Neurotoxins
Using your own Blood is the latest anti-ager. The innovative Selphyl® System www.selphyl.com borrows upon the notion of platelet rich plasma (PRP). PRP has been around for the last decade used to repair damaged knees and ankles which is now being applied as a tissue filler. Blood platelets contain growth factors that regenerate damaged tissue.
